Batken Region Batken Region is the youngest region in Kyrgyzstan. It
was set up on 12 October 1999. Until then all the towns and settlements
in it were part of Osh Region. The Region is located in the country’s
southwest. It is divided into three districts, four towns, five settlements
and 34 rural districts. The regional centre is the town of Batken. It
covers an are of 17,000 sq. km. The population is 339,000 people. |
