25.11.2008 Ц Security Council Secretary Adahan Madumarov visited Batken Region.
During the visit, A. Madumarov visited southern regions of the country, checked the situation at border posts and discussed the issues of border demarcation and delimitation with his Tajik counterpart.

The Kyrgyz Republic is situated in the south-west of Central Asia. In the north it is neighboring with Kazakhstan, in the west Ц with Uzbekistan, in the south-west with Tajikistan and in the south-east with China. The total length of the countryТs borders is 4503km. The republic is situated in the centre of the Eurasian continent, at the crossing of the airlines between East and West, South and East. Within 4-hours flight from Manas airport, such cities as Moscow (Russia), Beijing (China), Istanbul (Turkey), Delhi (India) are situated. The territory of Kyrgyzstan is 199,900 sq.m.

14.11.2008 Ц The УInvestments and Business Ц 2008Ф Investment Forum was held.
The event was organized by the OSCE Project УSupporting economic functions of local authoritiesФ, in cooperation with the Osh Regional State Administration and the Plenipotentiary Representation of the MFA in the southern region.
Representatives of the Presidential Administration, Economic Development and Trade Ministry, state administrations of Jalalabad and Batken Regions, Osh MayorТs Office, Kyrgyz business society, as well as several regions in Russia, Kazakhstan, Iran, China, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan took part in the forum.
Within the framework of the event, an exhibition of the production and investment projects of enterprises in the southern region of Kyrgyzstan, as well as a presentation of investment potential of Batken, Jalalabad and Osh regions were held.

13.11.2008 Ц The Ambassador Extraordinary Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Kyrgyzstan, Vladimir Solovey, with his spose arrived in the town of Osh to pass over a humanitarian aid to the victims of an earthquake in the village of Nura.
The head of the Osh RegionТs state administrationТs apparatus, A. Kuluyev, the deputy head of the Plenipotentiary Representation, K.Mamataliyev and the third secretary of the Representation, M.Apyshov met the guests at the airport.
During the visit, a meeting of B. Ospanov with the governor of Osh Region, Aaly Karashev, was held. At the meeting, the ambassador on behalf of the Kazakh nation voiced condolence to the victims of the earthquake in Nura. The parties also discussed the issues of trade and economic cooperation between the countries.
Besides, during the visit, Vladimir Solovey met the mayor of Osh, Jumadyl Isakov, and awarded 15 war veterans with medals of the Ukrainian Government.

12.11.2008 Ц The Ambassador Extraordinary Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Kyrgyzstan, B.Ospanov, arrived in the town of Osh.
The major purpose of the visit of the ambassador, as well as the embassyТs second secretary, U.Muhamedchenov, was attending a ceremony of passing over the humanitarian aid of the Kazakh government to the victims of an earthquake in the village of Nura in Alay District of Osh Region. The ceremony of passing the aid worth 150,000 dollars, was held in the Osh airport on 12 November.

09.11.2008 Ц The Consul for security issues of the Japanese Embassy in Kyrgyzstan, Hirosi Nakano, visited the southern region.
During the trip, the Japanese diplomat visited Osh, Jalalabad and Batken Regions, met heads of local administrations and representatives of the Interior MinistryТs directorates and the State Committee for National SecurityТs offices in the southern region. Staff members of the Plenipotentiary Representation took a direct part in preparing the visit.

02.11.2008 Ц The Plenipotentiary Representative of the MFA in the southern region took part in the work of the Inter-governmental commission for delimitation and demarcation of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek border, which was held in the town of Fergana (Uzbekistan) on 28 October-2 November 2008.

01.11.2008 Ц The website of the Plenipotentiary Representation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic in the southern region was launched.
